Digital lecture at the University of St. Gallen

The coronavirus forced Patrik Odermatt and Philippe Kaiser to give their lecture at the University of St. Gallen digitally. This new format was challenging, but it opened up many new opportunities. The topic could hardly have been more topical. The two speakers shed light on corporate notarial transactions in the digital age – electronic notarization, digital currencies, virtual meetings and blockchain technology. As a result of Ordinance 2 on measures to combat the coronavirus, the virtual general meeting, which was previously only provided for in the draft of the partial revision of the Code of Obligations, immediately became a reality. This also poses new challenges for notaries when it comes to general meeting resolutions requiring notarization. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Prof. Dr. Florian Möslein for inviting us to speak at his lecture in Law and Econimics at the University of St. Gallen.
